Looking for a fun snack stop in Chicago without buying a full meal? These three restaurants publish specific appetizer offers on their own websites: a hot-honey chicken slider for $6, fried pickles for $7, and a Spanish tortilla tapa for $8. Instead of pretending we visited, we show the posted details and the restrictions you should double-check before going.
Source check: October 10, 2026, using each restaurant’s public menu and venue information. Prices, times and menus can change without notice. These are advertised food-menu prices, not a claim that each meal is the cheapest or best in Chicago. Sales tax, tips and other charges may raise the final total.

Original Bite & Sip Picks price comparison, checked October 10, 2026 against each restaurant’s official menu; verify prices and hours before visiting.
At a glance: three Chicago snack finds
| Spot & neighborhood | Published snack price | Happy-hour window |

1. Daisy’s Po-Boy & Tavern — $6 Hot Honey Slider
Address: 5215 South Harper Avenue, Chicago, IL 60615 (Hyde Park).
The official Happy Hour menu lists a $6 Hot Honey Slider made with crispy chicken thigh and hot honey on a house-made biscuit. It also lists a $6 Louisiana Slider, an $8 Debris Fries option and $11 Gochujang Wings.
When: Tuesday through Friday, 4–6 PM; Saturday, 11 AM–3 PM. Confirm the applicable food offer before ordering. Some specials may have bar or dine-in conditions not fully explained on the menu page.

CRISPY FRIED PICKLES
ERIS Happy Hour Menu: $7

2. ERIS Brewery & Cider House — $7 Fried Pickles
Address: 4240 West Irving Park Road, Chicago, IL 60641 (Old Irving Park).
ERIS lists Fried Pickles for $12 at the regular price and $7 during Happy Hour. The restaurant describes them as maize-coated pickle chips with togarashi and chipotle ranch. Its menu also lists Chickpea Hummus at $12 normally and $7 during the promotion.
When: Monday–Thursday, 4–6 PM; Friday, noon–6 PM. Those windows come from the restaurant’s official brewpub page. The venue’s online listing describes a restaurant as well as a brewery; you do not need to drink alcohol to order food, but check its current availability and policies.

3. Mercat a la Planxa — $8 Spanish Tortilla
Address: 638 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60605 (South Loop, inside The Blackstone hotel).
Its official Picar Happy Hour page lists an $8 Spanish Tortilla (potato, egg, caramelized onion, saffron aioli), alongside other listed $8 bites. The dish is a small savory Spanish-style plate rather than a full dinner. The same venue also has other menu pages, so make sure the Picar Happy Hour offer is the one currently available to you.
When: Tuesday–Saturday, 4–5:30 PM, according to that menu page. The general venue page lists separate dinner and bar hours; a venue being open does not prove the promotion is running at that time.

Which snack matches your mood?
- Sweet and spicy: Hot Honey Slider at Daisy’s. The official menu also offers savory fries.
- Crispy and tangy: Fried Pickles at ERIS. Check how the dip affects allergens and spice.
- Small plate and shareable: Spanish Tortilla at Mercat. Ask about portions and whether the sauce is included.
- Vegetarian considerations: confirm ingredients with each restaurant; we do not assume a dish is vegetarian solely from its name.
A quick value check before you leave
- Verify the exact day and hour: Happy-hour pricing is time-limited.
- Check where you must sit: a deal may apply only at the bar or to dine-in guests.
- Ask about portion size: a $6 slider and an $8 tapa are different products, not a direct per-ounce comparison.
- Watch the final bill: tax, service fees, tip and add-ons can change the total.
- Confirm the posted price again: the restaurant’s latest menu should take priority over this article.
What to drink with your bite?
A chilled lemonade can complement the hot-honey chicken; an unsweetened iced tea can suit fried pickles; citrus sparkling water can feel fresh with a rich potato-and-egg tapa. These are editorial pairing ideas, not verified menu offerings or special-price beverage deals at the three venues. Check each drinks menu first, and keep alcohol optional.
